The Property  Spectron is a top quality modern self-contained industrial/distribution headquarters building of 4180 sqm/45,000 sqft on a site of about 2 acres. The history of the building is interesting. It was built by Halfen for their own occupation in 1988. Halfen used it for 10 years and then sold it to Dr Solomons, the anti virus software developers, for their own use. Money was clearly no problem for Dr Solomons, who then upgraded it to the highest specification we have seen for years, even though it was only 10 years old. The upgrade included air conditioning in the offices, category 5 structured voice and data flood wiring, 8 person passenger lift, central heating, electrically operated loading doors, gas fired radiant heaters in the manufacturing/distribution area supplemented by high level economiser fans, high bay light fittings and landscaping.

The building was also fitted with a very sophisticated intruder detection system, swipe card access control and a fully addressable fire alarm system.

The building became surplus when Network Associates bought Dr Solomons and Savills were asked to sell. We bought the vacant building within 10 working days and retained Savills to find a tenant. They did so within a month of the acquisition and let the building to Ora Telecom. Ora subsequently went into receivership. The building is now let to Hill & Smith Group who trade as Techspan Systems for 25 years to 2028 with a break at the sixteenth year.
